Student Policies & Procedures

  1. Students must be 18 years of age or older for adult courses. These courses will most likely feature humor with adult content. Age requirements for all other courses will be as noted on specific course pages.
  2. Students understand that by enrolling for a course, they agree to receive important information via email about the course logistics, curriculum, scheduling, payment, etc. We also reserve the right to occasionally email about class shows and other Off Mic events. We respect your privacy (A LOT) and will never use your information for other purposes, or sell it.
  3. We use PayPal, an established, trusted payment processing provider, to accept and process payments for courses. We will never see your confidential credit card information, and as with emails, will not share or sell it.
  4. The student has agreed to pay full tuition price for the course before it begins. Placement is not secure until payment is received in full. A payment plan is available for the courses, but must be completed by the specified due date upon registration. Students who have not completed their payment plan payments risk the loss of their deposit, may not be allowed to continue in a course, or may be unable to continue into a future course until their balance is paid.
  5. Course payments are final and non-transferable. Off Mic Comedy School does not offer refunds if a student is unable to attend the course.
  6. Students must be on time to class and have all technology needs sorted before class (for example, zoom ready with sound working, headphones on, camera ready, no sound disruptions around you, etc.)
  7. Classes are “You’ve got a golden ticket” (aka PASS) or “Try Again” (aka FAIL). If students miss more than 2 classes, they risk not passing the class.

  9. or support animal for disability, or relationship to a person with a disability, with other students or the the course instructor.
  10. Students can email with any complaints, concerns, or questions regarding class.
  11. Our values at Off Mic include “punching up” instead of “punching down”. We encourage students and teachers to openly engage in conversations in class regarding fairness, equity, and inclusivity. Comedy is for everyone. This space is safe for everyone.
We support you as comedians! We want to see you succeed. There is no need for competition. When one of us succeeds, we all succeed.
  12. HAVE FUN! Comedy is all about having fun! Relax and enjoy yourself.
