THIS ENGAGING AND PLAYFUL COURSE WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS AN INTRODUCTION TO THE FUNDAMENTAL BASICS OF IMPROV
In 6 weeks, student will learn specialized skills and concepts that make up the foundation of improv. You'll be hooked after experiencing the joy and thrill of improvising your first scene!
When: Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30pm EST; (1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23 with a graduation show on 3/2)

Our Off Mic Improv 101 course is focused on the most fundamental improv concepts and skills like: agreement, creating characters, object work, emotional integrity, and establishing relationships in a scene. Students will learn best practices of how to improvise a fun, clear, and engaging scene. Through applied exercises, individualized feedback, and exposure to basic improv concepts, students will create improvised scenes with classmates each week. Give your mind the tools to play in a brand new and creative way!
Course includes a virtual graduation show!
Christina Anthony is a Los Angeles-based writer, improviser, and comedian. She taught and directed improv at the Philly Improv Theater where she also performed weekly with Saturday Night House Team Overlook, Harold Team Fan Club, and all POC comedy troupe NYTEShift from 2017-2020. Christina also co-hosted and co-produced the monthly cross-cultural comedy show, ¿Cómo Se Dice…? featuring the bilingual improv troupe ¿Qué?, which successfully retired after 18 months at Good Good Comedy Theatre. She has performed at festivals nationwide including: Del Close Marathon (New York City),Philadelphia Fringe Festival (Philadelphia), and North Carolina Comedy Festival (Greensboro, NC). She has studied at the Philly Improv Theater and The Second City, Chicago.
