Get fun and focused peer feedback on your jokes and writing.
When: Wednesdays starting 3/10 from 7-8pm EST. Choose from every week or every other week.

Price: $75 for On or Off (4 sessions each); $125 for both On and Off (8 sessions total)
Capacity: 12 Students Max
Prerequisites: Please bring some written standup material to “On” weeks

The focus is for students to generate or workshop their material during these sessions. You are not obligated to perform the material on the open mic but if you choose to, please mention as we want to help celebrate your wins and conquer challenges as you build. Students can choose between writing or refinement week(s), or both! Schedule allows for flexibility and “joke incubator” time. There are no deadlines or anticipation that you'll write under pressure in these sessions.
Erica Switzer is a Chicago comedian and public speaker formerly based in Shanghai, China. With her unique energy and raw, biting wit, she recently won the Flappers Comedy Club Soup-or-Bowl and was selected for the NY Underground Comedy Festival. She has featured for veteran comedians Simeon Goodson, Mateen Stewart, and Justin Rivera and accomplished her first 30-minute headliner in April 2020. Along with founding Hei Now Comedy, China's premier Black comedy crew, Erica became the first Black comedian to perform in Mongolia at the inaugural Silk Road International Comedy Festival in July 2019.
Educated in Chicago, Erica received her BA English/Creative Writing at Lake Forest College and MA English Literature at DePaul University. After 7 years in corporate human resources, she returned to teaching during her China journey. She most recently taught English and Drama at Lycee Francais de Shanghai.
