So you’ve already taken the hard step of putting yourself out there – by trying standup (kudos!) and by doing open mics. If you’re looking to polish your 5-7 minute set, refine jokes and improve your stage presence, this is the course for you.
Our Off Mic Standup 201 course is focused on helping you go to the next level, in both craft and confidence. Your experienced instructor will reinforce comedy fundamentals (joke writing, timing), while helping you and your peers elevate your comedy with focused exercises and thoughtful feedback.
Course includes access to weekly sessions as well as weekly open mics and a virtual graduation show!
Dan Vetrano is a Philly-based comedian, writer, producer, and is generally quite nice in conversation. He was the host and creator of the shows “Get Work” and “Worst of Philly” at Good Good Comedy Theater, where he regularly performed. He was a two-time finalist in Philly's Phunniest, is a regular host and feature at clubs Helium and Punch Line Philly, and has worked with comics like Dan Cummins, Christian Finnegan, Jaboukie Young-White, Andy Kindler, and Michael Ian Black. In the world of sketch comedy, Dan is one half of the brilliantly named duo Dan & Chris, and one-eighteenth of the high-energy sketch group Darlings which performed in NY Comedy Fest.
As an instructor, Dan somehow manages to strike a magical balance between feisty and deeply empathetic. He makes everyone in his courses feel like they don’t have to take themselves quite so seriously (which honestly might be a key to being an even better comic).
Cassandra Dee (she/her) is a stand-up comedian and writer from Philadelphia. She’s been a regular at Good Good Comedy Theatre, Punch Line Philly, and Helium Comedy Club, where she won the title of Philly’s Phunniest Person in 2018. She’s opened for headliners like Janeane Garofalo, Mark Normand, Beth Stelling, Chris Gethard, and Aparna Nancherla. Recently, she was featured on the Best of Helium 2020: Volume One compilation album and her jokes can be heard on SiriusXM.
As an instructor, she aims to help students find their own voice so they can contribute a unique piece of themselves to the comedy world.
